Expert Endodontic Care: Restoring Tooth Health with Precision

Root canal treatment is a procedure designed to save a tooth when the inner pulp – containing nerves and blood vessels – becomes damaged or infected. The process involves cleaning out the infected area, disinfecting the canals, and sealing the tooth to prevent further issues. This treatment not only alleviates pain but also preserves your natural tooth, significantly reducing the need for extraction.

In more complex cases, such as infections involving multiple canals or challenging anatomy, consulting a specialist is essential. Endodontists are highly trained specialists with advanced expertise in performing these intricate procedures with precision and care, ensuring optimal outcomes for your dental health and oral function.

At ReDental® we have payment plans starting from $23 per week for our endodontic treatments.

Our Process at ReDental®

Initial Consultation Treatment Planning

During your initial consultation, the endodontist will perform a thorough examination using advanced tools, including special operating microscopes, to ensure every detail of your tooth is closely inspected. In some cases, a CBCT scan (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) may also be needed, providing a precise 3D view of your teeth and surrounding structures. For your convenience, ReDental® Specialist Centre has this advanced imaging technology available on-site.

Treatment Stages and Individualised Care

Root canal treatment varies depending on the complexity of the case, the number of canals, and the extent of infection. Some cases are completed in one appointment, while others may require up to three visits to ensure the best outcome. Each step is carefully planned and carried out with precision to ensure long-lasting results.

Procedure and Follow-Up

The procedure is performed using advanced techniques, including the use of an operating microscope for precision. After treatment, follow-up visits may be scheduled to monitor healing and ensure long-term success.

What Can You Expect During Treatment?

Your Endodontic Journey with ReDental®

Root canal treatment typically involves several stages, and the number of appointments required can vary depending on the complexity of your case. Factors such as the tooth being treated, the number of canals, and the extent of the infection or damage all play a role.

For some patients, the treatment may be completed in a single appointment, while more complex cases may require up to three visits to ensure the best outcome. Your endodontist will guide you through each stage, from cleaning and disinfecting the canals to filling and sealing the tooth. Each step is carefully planned and carried out with precision to ensure long-lasting results.

Stages of a Root Canal Procedure:

  1. Cleaning the Canal: Removing the infected or damaged pulp.
  2. Filling the Canal: Filling the canals to prevent reinfection.
  3. Sealing the Tooth: Sealing the tooth and potentially adding a crown for protection.

Frequently Asked Questions

When do I need endodontic treatment?

Common causes for the need for endodontic treatment include:

  • Inflamed/infected tooth pulp
  • Severe sensitivity to hot or cold elements
  • Tooth decay
  • Chipped or broken teeth
  • Swelling or tenderness near the infected tooth
  • Repeated dental procedures on a tooth

Endodontic treatment is designed to help save a tooth that otherwise would have to be removed.

The pulp of a tooth can be damaged due to periodontal disease, severe decay or as a result of a traumatic injury.

Sometimes to get more information about your tooth, we have to take a 3D scan which can help for many reasons:

  • Making the right diagnosis
  • Deciding on the most appropriate treatment option for you
  • Planning treatment and communicating with other dentists or specialists who are helping you.

This helps you get the best possible outcome.

A local anesthetic is applied to ensure you experience little to no pain during the procedure. At ReDental® Specialist Centre we also have a wide variety of methods to offer if you experience any anxiety or fear before your treatment.

Although the tooth is more fragile, with proper restoration, daily brushing and flossing, routine follow-ups and a healthy diet, the tooth may last a lifetime.

Root Canal Specialists, or Endodontists undergo an additional three years of full-time study after qualifying as dentists. This specialised training equips them with advanced skills and knowledge focused entirely on performing endodontic treatments. Their expertise allows them to manage more challenging cases that require a higher level of precision.

At ReDental® Specialist Centre, our endodontists use operating microscopes during every procedure. This advanced technology enables them to examine and treat the fine details inside your tooth, ensuring the highest standard of care and a successful outcome.
